Efficient Algorithm for Isotropic and Anisotropic Total Variation Deblurring and Denoising

چکیده
A new deblurring and denoising algorithm is proposed, for isotropic total variation-based image restoration. The algorithm consists of an efficient solver for the nonlinear system and an acceleration strategy for the outer iteration. For the nonlinear system, the split Bregmanmethod is used to convert it into linear system, and an algebraicmultigridmethod is applied to solve the linearized system. For the outer iteration, we have conducted formal convergence analysis to determine an auxiliary linear term that significantly stabilizes and accelerates the outer iteration. Numerical experiments demonstrate that our algorithm for deblurring and denoising problems is efficient.

A Weighted Difference of Anisotropic and Isotropic Total Variation Model for Image Processing
We propose a weighted difference of anisotropic and isotropic total variation (TV) as a regularization for image processing tasks, based on the well-known TV model and natural image statistics. Due to the difference form of our model, it is natural to compute via a difference of convex algorithm (DCA). We draw its connection to the Bregman iteration for convex problems, and prove that the itera...
متن کاملIterative Algorithms Based on Decoupling of Deblurring and Denoising for Image Restoration
In this paper, we propose iterative algorithms for solving image restoration problems. The iterative algorithms are based on decoupling of deblurring and denoising steps in the restoration process. In the deblurring step, an efficient deblurring method using fast transforms can be employed. In the denoising step, effective methods such as the wavelet shrinkage denoising method or the total vari...
متن کاملConvex Generalizations of Total Variation Based on the Structure Tensor with Applications to Inverse Problems
We introduce a generic convex energy functional that is suitable for both grayscale and vector-valued images. Our functional is based on the eigenvalues of the structure tensor, therefore it penalizes image variation at every point by taking into account the information from its neighborhood. It generalizes several existing variational penalties, such as the Total Variation and vectorial extens...
متن کاملVelocity Modeling in a Vertical Transversely Isotropic Medium Using Zelt Method
In the present paper, the Zelt algorithm has been extended for ray tracing through an anisotropic model. In anisotropic media, the direction of the propagated energy generally differs from that of the plane-wave propagation. This makes velocity values to be varied in different directions. Therefore, velocity modeling in such media is completely different from that in an isotropic media. The vel...
متن کاملAnisotropic Total Variation Regularized L-Approximation and Denoising/Deblurring of 2D Bar Codes
We consider variations of the Rudin-Osher-Fatemi functional which are particularly well-suited to denoising and deblurring of 2D bar codes. These functionals consist of an anisotropic total variation favoring rectangles and a fidelity term which measure the L distance to the signal, both with and without the presence of a deconvolution operator. Based upon the existence of a certain associated ...
